A Japanese web designer, Ono Takehiko, created a website which features 250 colors mostly used in traditional color combinations in Japan. The “Nippon Colors: The Traditional Colors of Japan”.
These colors are frequently used in kimono, traditional arts and crafts. You can easily experience these Japanese traditional colors, including color names, color codes (CMYK, RGB, HEX). When click on the names of the colors (which are extremely elegant names written in kanji and also with romaji pronunciation), the background of the page will change to the color itself to provide the most direct demonstration.
In addition, there is a “Munsell" color system button on the right, it provides a dynamic view of the combination of colors. When clicking on the “Munsell” button on the right side of the webpage, you will see the page turns into a group of color bars—each with their number that you just saw in the previous page—shifting and swirling while the background also changes randomly.
