see this a bit late…
Hyundai joined the flock of automakers at CES 2017 revealing future ideas around autonomous car technology. Although their ‘Mobility Vision’ concept may be the ‘farthest out’ of the bunch. Part of this concept is Smart House technology, a merging of mobility and living and working spaces.
Hyundai designers propose that vehicles of the future might not look anything like the cars of today. Rather, the vehicle interior would become an extension of the home or office and physically dock with adjacent living and working spaces. The idea is to be able to share the space for entertainment, productivity or energy transfer activities.
The new concept combines the comfort, convenience and connectivity features of the car and the home into ‘one space’.
Smart House aims to address limited living space issues in urban environments by making architecture more flexible. The vehicle could potentially contain a heating and air-conditioning system efficient enough to warm or cool the rest of an interior space. Beyond that, the concept is a solution for keeping a vehicle in use for a greater range of time versus simply when it is driven.
